Chair moulding serves to functions: adding detail and protecting walls from marks caused by chair backs. Chair moulding is typically installed about 30 to 36 inches above the floor...or in the world of dollhouse miniatures...about 2-3/4" to 3" above the floor. Chair molding is either painted to compliment the other wood trims, painted to contrast with the wall color, or stained to match the wood trims throughout the room.
