Producing a miniature animal skin is really quite easy with punchneedle embroidery. For the polar bear rug, the loops are cut across the surface, resulting in a soft pile the feels like the fur of the animal (faux fur). The intricate pattern of the snow leopard is a challenge, but the symmetry of this design will prove to be a very special, exotic rug when completed.

Two patterns are silk screened on an 11" fabric square. A #1 and #6 punchneedle is required. Additional supplies and thread suggestions are listed on the instructions included with the pattern.

Polar Bear Rug measures about 5" x 6" finished; Snow Leopard Rug is about 4" x 6" finished size.
