This watermelon eating mudhead by Little White Dove, about 1" high, would make a wonderful conversation piece in a one-inch scale southwestern setting or as part of a miniature art collection. Handcrafted of clay.
The Koyesmi, or Mudhead Kachina, is a clown who may be seen in most Hopi ceremonies. He is the joker who brings happiness to others. Clowns are often shown with watermelons and behave in the usual manor of pueblo clowns, engaging in loud and boisterous conversation, immoderate actions, and gluttony. The term mudhead comes from their masks which have mud applied to them.
